Slow plotting in Windows XP

    I have had problems plotting from 2002 and Win XP as much as everyone else.
    For myself printing to a Designjet 600 takes about 15 min. for a 30x42
    sheet. And am trying to find a fix. However I am wondering if anyone has
    tried the following:

    Are there any companies out there that can write custom printer files? Maybe
    this can help?

    Also what about trying a different plotter driver? For example if I am
    trying to plot to a HP Designjet 600 in hpgl2 can a different driver be
    used? Such as a Designjet 750? Aside from the monocrome color issue will it
    work with a newer plotter driver. Or are they even compatable?

    I appreciate any feedback.
