slides

    Do any of you fine folks have any tips on keeping AutoCAD from turning a
    15kb .gif file into a 5 meg slide.

    I do know that if you have lots of solid patterns in your gif then it will
    create a large slide. for example if you create a slide of hatch patterns
    then the come out large. Try to minimize the solids objects in your gif.

    yeah, slides are tricky little guys. we had a bunch of blocks with solid hatches, and the slides looked all fugy. so we tried firing the SHADE command on them before shooting the slides, and suddenly the slides are a couple megs each.
    you'll have to turn off the layer your image is on before shooting the slide, or look into making the dialog box with VBA where you can just drop in a preview pane rather than rely on slides.
