There seem to be some logic to how the centerline works.

Sometimes it draws the new line from the end point of the last line -
sometimes it lets you start a new one.

I always want to make a new line THAT IS NOT connected to the last made
centerline. How do I do that in the fastest way?

  2. two methods available for line creation on the fly:

    1. click, click = string of lines connected (like in AutoCAD)
    2. click+hold+drag & release = one line without another line starting from
    it (what you want)

After clicking to end each line segment move the curser off the end and
double click and it will release it and start a new line when you
    click again.
