When I open a drawing AutoCAD fire up a dialog box (Select Shape File)
asking for a shape (romans.shx). Also AutoCAD show a message: "ROMANS.SHX is
a normal text font file, not a shape file."
    ROMANS.SHX is our default font.
If I select romans.shx from the dialog box AutoCAD keep asking me for the
shape. If I click on CANCEL or hit ESC the dialog shows a second time and I
have to repeat the same operation. After the second time the drawing opens
    ok.
How I could avoid this situation?
    TIA

  2. It is asking for a shape file for a complex linetype. Try using ltypeshp.

    LTYPESHP gave me: Unknown command.
If I list the shapes on my drawing I have this message:

    Available shapes:

    File: ltypeshp.shx (Xref Dependent)
    TRACK1 ZIG
    BOX CIRC1
    BAT

I am not using a complex linetypes. Loaded linetype on my drawing: Center,
Dashed, Continuous, Hidden. I was looking for ltypeshp.lin for complex
linetypes and I could not find it.
    Text Styles use: romans.shx, style3.shx, txt.shx.
PURGE did not solve the problem.

  4. No, you didn't understand... that isn't a command, it is a shape file. Try
using that shape file for the missing shape file.

Ok I am using the ltypeshp. But now the drawing takes forever to open,
regen, plot, because it says LTYPESHP.SHX is a shape, not a text font file
and takes time to format the text. Any other idea? TIA

  6. Have you fixed the XRef?
