Severe Error

  1. Just reformatted some machines and installed
AutoCAD 2005 this weekend. Getting a
strange error when printing from model space.

Issuing PLOT from model space gives the
"Severe error" alert box 2 or 3 times then
I get the "busy" hourglass and AutoCAD just
    hangs before crashing.

Issuing PLOT from paper space (in the same
    drawing) works fine.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

  2. Thanks for the suggestion, Dean. While in the
Model tab I issued the pagesetup command,
still got one error box and then it opened.

I was able to open the plot dialog from another
machine (go figure) and set the plot device to
none for the model tab. Problem seems to be
taken care of, at least for that drawing file.

Next time this happens, I'll have the user try the
pagesetup deal again and reset the plot device.

    Thanks again.

  3. PS: Trying to reset the plot device for the
model tab through the pagesetup dialog on
one of the machines that is 'acting up' does
not work. Once you hit modify the plot
box never shows up and AutoCAD is toast.
