I know of , use, the LFD lisp that deletes extraneous layer filters
that tag along in older ACAD versions. Is there one out there that
will allow one to keep some and not wipe them all out?

I use the filters much, have to reset them constantly, be nice to instruct
it to keep some and delete the non-needed ones

    TIA

    John,

I'll have to play with it tonight, but when it says
"Wildcard mask for filters to keep, or <Enter> to delete all:"
at the command line, do I just type them in in parentheses as they appear
with a comma to divide them like this
    "*", "**", "***", "****" (etc.)

is this how to tell it how to keep them?

The wildcard mask would probably be something like this:

    "*,**,***,****"

    BUT

    "*,**,***,****" = "*" no?

    "?,??,???,????" = keep all filters with 1, 2, 3, or 4 letter names...
....but we can't have THAT, now, can we? ;)

Look for additional info in help files under wcmatch.

What exactly do you wish to keep?
    Is there a specific pattern?

To be honest, I haven't tried the wildcard portion yet.

the **** stuff are just symbols to depicts layer prefixes
    they don't mean anything specific
but an example may be "A-DETL"
or "A-WALL" aallowing it purge others but not these.
just examples, trying to find out how to input the info
