I know it's been asked many times before, but I hope someone can help me
    out.

I am looking for a FREE application to scale plt files. All of the
utilities I've found cost money. Can somebody please help me?

All I want to do is plot these things half size....

    Thanks in advance.

  2. For reliable scaling you need either a plotter that supports scaling by
commands, or an application that interprets your plotfiles (which are in ??
format? for a ?? plotter/printer?) and then scales and prints them. This is
not a simple application, so few people will build one and then give it away
for free - unless there is another commercial interest. Oce plotters can
scale plots with RCF commands (and on the front panel), and I use that
feature in my GoPlot tool. Scaling is more difficult with HP plotters; you
could try by editing the plotfiles (SC and IP parameters) or use a viewer
that interprets the files first (for instance Viewcompanion); but as I said,
you will probably not find one that is free.

I have AutoCad 2005 LT on my computer. Is there any way to scale a .plt
    file with it?

My plotter is an HP Design Jet 5000.

    Thanks for the info.

  4. You can not scale a plt file with AutoCAD. But you can create two plt files
with different scales from the same dwg in AutoCAD. Once you have one plt
file, the story is like I told.
