is there a way to be sure that a particular version of acad will open a dwg
or dxf file... i have 2000 and 2004 on an winxp machine. i would like to
strip most of the buttons from 2000 and make it a simple command line
drawing machine, while keeping 2004 with all the bells and whistles. right
now the last acad version i save a file with is the one launched from
    windows explorer...
i tried to simply change the version 2000 acad.exe to acad2k.exe with no
    luck...

By Setup Autocad always ask for: standalone or upgrade on the begining of
instalation. I think You do not read!
