Rotate Plane.

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Bhushan Kalse, Mar 9, 2005.

  1. Hi EB,

Can anybody tell me how to rotate a plane by some angle in AutoCAD (R14
or 2k). I want to develop a program which will rotate the object as per
the angle from a perticular axis and angle from perticular plane. (e.g.
50 deg. from X axis and 45 deg. from XY plane)

For this I can rotate the UCS by the angle made with a perticulae axis
and draw the object. But how can I rotate the plane for the later part
    ?

Any help regarding this will be very much appriciated.
    Thanks in advance,

    ~b.

  2. I'm not exactly sure what you want, but the ROTATE command works in the X-Y
plane of the current UCS only. Therefore, you need to preset the UCS so that
the rotation you want would take place in the X-Y plane. The final rotation
you want might require you to make two or more manipulations of the UCS
before the X-Y plane will be correct for the rotation you want, or you might
make one or more UCS changes, ROTATE once, then change the UCS again,
ROTATE, etc. to get the right result.

the "align" command also works for 3D parts. I've found that modeling
things on a preset UCS alignment (world) and then rotating the
part/piece into place is sometimes easier than trying to get your UCS
    aligned first.
