Rotary Solenoid replacement

I would like to replace various sizes of rotary solenoids with motor
gearbox arrangements. The solenoids don't give me enough torque and/
or rotation, but have more than enough speed.

The advantage of solenoids is that they've been standardized for
decades and are likely to be around for decades to come. What I want
is lighter weight, smaller size, lower current draw, and more energy
    at the cost of speed.

Can anybody suggest anything off the shelf? Can anybody suggest motor
and gear components that are pretty standardized at 28v and 12v?

    Thanks.
