RIDICULOUS - SW drawing output is rubbish

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Lee Bazalgette, Dec 18, 2003.

  1. what is the point of Solidworks drawings when the lines projected out of the
model dont represent the model edges????? I've got a very important file,
which I've had to modify using surfaces, and when I project it out the edges
of the drawing dont match the edges of the model. So my client will check
the drawing and say 'hey. why dont those edges match up?' - GREAT.

  2. ok, I'm less scathing now having upped the resolution and found that that
puts the edges in the right place. but surely, when you're exporting to DWG
or whatever, SW should up the resolution anyway, otherwise the export isn't
true - which could lead to all sorts of trouble.

You can't "up" the resolution on a vector formatted (i.e., .dwg) file, only
    pixelated files.

  4. oh, but you can......even using 'regen' in solidworks doesn't mae the
exported lines any smoother, but if you up your image quality in SW then
    they do get smother......
