Does anyone know of an easy way to i.e. an assembly with say 2/3 Solid & 1/3
Wire frame. I have seen this in a render of a Railroad Wheel Set Testing
    Station by Fraunhofer TEG. Thanks

  3. You'll probably have to create two seperate renderings. One that has
everything solid and one that has everything wirframe. Then take both of
those into a photo editing program (Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, etc.) and
combine the two pictures into one. You'll need to make sure that when you
render them, that the view point and size look identical for both the solid
and the wireframe pics. Then bring both of them into your photoediting
software on seperate layers and start masking them so you see 2/3 of the
solid and 1/3 of the wireframe.

  4. Do you have an example of what you are describing. Off hand I would say you
are going to need to render both ways and crop and overlay the two pictures
over eachother using Photo Editing Software or something.

  6. You could actually use contour rendering in PhotoWorks to achieve this. You
have to apply a transparent material to the part you want to see through and
set your reflection /refraction depth accordingly. Check out
www.bxhdesigns.com The engine rendering (also shown at the SW website and
some computer ads) was done this way. If you do a search you will find that
Brian Hill has posted the instructions on how to achieve this.
