    Using A2ki...
Is there a way to rename an image similar to using RENAME to rename blocks?
    TIA

Yes. With and without custom programming, but not exactly like the RENAME
    command.

It appears that because image definitions are external, they aren't cataloged in
the tables section, so they aren't included in the RENAME command. But if you
use the IMAGE command, you can click on the name in the list, and rename the
image. Its path is stored separately.

Programatically you can change the "Name" property of the image object. In
fact, you can change the "ImageFile" property to strip the path, and like other
pathing issues, if the image file is found (looking first in the drawing's
folder), it will load just fine. Sorry for answering more than you had asked.
