    Hello,

During part creation and subsequent draft checks, many colors were
used on faces of parts to make them easier to see. Once in an
assembly, these colors were over-riden to make the assembly look good.
I am now converting the parts into polygon mesh for use in an
animation program. I need to reset the colors; or actually remove the
colors from the sldprt files. I tried highlighting all the features in
the feature tree, going to "colors" and removing the colors. Though
the features/faces are removed from the feature box, the colors
themselves are not removed. If I individually select the faces, I can
remove the colors. I really need to reset everything back to zero (no
color) and start again. I'm using SW 2004 (SP3). Any help is
    appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey Mike,

Go to Matt Lombards website and then to his Macro Library and download the
    macro called "face color".
It will remove all colors from an assembly.

    Hi Muggs,

Thanks for teh response. I almost called you, but a.)I didin't
know if you were back and b.)didn't want to bother you with this!

I tried to download the macros you said, but they don;t save
correctly (when you right click them, you get an *.htm extension).
What is the deal with colors in parts? This is making no sense. I
select the entire part, which selects all the faces. I then hit remove
color. It doesn't remove all the color; it does selected faces(no
rhyme/reason that I can see). If I select the entire model, and select
a new color, it only appears to color the faces that you can see! Any
other sugggestions? BTW, I tried selecting the text for the macros and
saving it, but it doesn't work in SW.

    Thanks again,

    MT

    Hi Muggs,

I went ahead and saved the macros as htm and then changed the
extension(f**king stupid). This worked. I still don't know the why
this is such a big deal in SW. Wouldn;t be a probelm, but this is how
I assign surfaces in Lightwave 3D for rendering.
