Release 14.

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Mr_Funktastik, Aug 14, 2005.

  1. Hi all.

I'm new to this group and not an Autocad user.
However my father is and it on his behalf I'm doing this.

He is running a windows Xp pro machine and wants to have his old copy
of Autocad release 14 with AEC 3.1 running on it. Now I have got
Release 14 on no problems, and AEC seems to install ok but doesnt
appear to be runable in anyway. Is this owing to a missing dongle? Or
have I gone wrong else where?

If I am barking up the wrong tree is there a method to get some of the
old objects from AEC to a more modern Autocad, items such as
    "stud/cavity walls".

    Any help gratefully recieved.

    David

Depending where you are in the world will depend on if a dongle is
required. They used them in the UK but not in the USA as far as I
know. Others may be able to advise if you can tell us where you are
    based.

Another option is I have my fathers old hard drive release 14 and AEC
installed on it and have managed to get release 14 working but it
doesnt have any of the AEC features.

The AEC folder is sat in the main C: directory and R14 in c:/program
    files

The information appear to be there but i cant get them working in
    conjuction?

In autocad, at the command prompt, type menuload
then if the acad menu shows up, but not the aec menu, hit browse and go
    find it, then hit load.
