I have a drawing that was received from a consultant that has the following
error (AcDbRegAppTableRecord: XData format Problem). The really bad thing is
that this file is referenced into many other files and the error is copied
to every file, like a virus, once it's xrefed. when an Audit or Recover is
done AutoCAD claims to fix the error, but does not. Does anyone know how to
fix this problem or have any experience with it.

    Thank you,

  2. Can you post a drawing with the problem?

  3. Tony,
I have posted a drawing with the same problem that Jim is refering to in
    customer files:
    http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=395246

Here is what I have tracked down so far:

    - An audit using AutoCAD 2005 and below will identify the error and will
say it is fixed, however subsequent audits on the same drawing will report
    the same error.

    - AutoCAD 2006's audit command will fix this problem and allow the regapp
    to be purged.

    - *If* you have AutoCAD 2006 installed, AutoCAD 2005 & 2004 will also fix
the problem and allow the regapp to be purged. I think this is because of
the way Autodesk uses the "Common Files" methodology (C:\Programs
    Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\"

It would be great to know how to fix this without the need for AutoCAD
    2006...

Thanks for any help you can offer...
