Redefine blocks with attributes

When adding new attdefs the redefined block doesn't update previous insertions to reflect new attribute values. Is there any work around or routine to accomplish this?

  2. You could try the ATTREDEF.lsp. Just type in ATTREDEF
    at the command line.

Like Jason says. Attributes in blocks don't update in the usual way. This is
by design -- apparently the idea was that information in existing attributes
must not be lost when the block is redefined. You can redefine a block to
have more attributes, and previous insertions of the block will still have
the same number of attributes as before. You have to use some kind of
special tool like attredef to change the existing blocks.

Thank you, I'll try attredef later although I saw a message in my first attempt saying "New block has no attributes" (?)
    I'll let you know.

Ok, it works fine. I had to select geometry and attdefs entities rather than blocks.
    Thank you again.
