read from specifed material

    i have created a basic macro where custom properties are entered into
    a box and then written into the part/assy. i have a field for the part
    material, but would also like to be able to have the ability to read
    from a material already specified in the materials editor/materials
    database.

    at the moment i leave the field blank for the material, so it then
    creates a Material custom property, then i link that to the specified
    material "".

    I'm just wondering if anyone knows how i can get this information,
    possibly using a push-button? any help would be greatly appreciated.
