I want to print a dwg on an inkjet printer, but it comes out in
color. I want all the lines to be pitch black. I can't find any
settings in the Print dialog to switch off the color. Help!

In case it matters, the printer is an HP DesgignJet 500, and the
    OS is Win98. (Autocad R14)

    TIA!

You don't "switch off" color; you must map all of the colors in the pen
settings dialog to "Pen 7" which corresponds to black.

In the Print/Plot Configuration dialogue box, go the Pen Assignments and
change the Pen No to '7' (which is black). You can click on the first and
then Shift/Click on the last to select them all, then in Modify Values
change the Pen to 7. Then click on OK.

There is an easier way....just use the monochrome pen setting that is
already in the system. Everything is black without monkeying with the pen
    settings.

No, it's not that simple. It prints in shades of gray
