Quick Oce question

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by mary_eatinger, Apr 7, 2004.

  1. Is anyone out there able to plot a solid hatch pattern from Autocad 2000 to an Oce 9400 plotter and have the lines show through the hatch pattern? (lines merge)

If you can do this please just respond that you can. We can't and I just want to know if it's possible with this plotter. If it's possible, we'll figure out what the problem is.

    Thanks so much.

I used to have a 9400 and was able to see lines through a solid hatch. If I
remember correctly there was a little distortion when plotting 1/2 size
prints. I asked why the 1/2 size prints I got from the repro were clearer
and the repro rep said it was due to the 9400 max resolution being 400 dpi
and their plotters plotted at 600 dpi.

We now have a TDS400 and can still see lines through a hatch.

Tools, Display Order, select hatch, then Send to back

It works for us this way, the big problem is when using xrefs and the
hatch is in the xref, we still "work around it". I'll be watching to see
    if there's a better way

    we use display order also
to an Oce 9400 plotter and have the lines show through the hatch pattern?

  5. We have a fix! We're using an HP driver for the Oce plotter and now our hatches are "merging". Had a little trouble getting sheet sizes set up but that's fixed too.

    Thanks everyone.

We've been doing this for years with our Oce 9400. It helps to turn on the
"Lines Merge" option in the Oce plotter driver configuration. Depending of
the version of the driver, it will be under either the "Graphics" group or
"Custom Properties". You should also be using a more recent Oce HDI driver
than the one that originally came with Acad2000 - that early version
(probably about 5 or 6 driver revisions back) hadn't implemented the merge
option yet. If you're using the original driver that came on the Acad2000
cd, run to the Oce web site and download the latest HDI drivers.

    http://tss.oceusa.com/downloads/autocad/drivers/index.htm

"Oce HDI Driver 1.9/2.6/3.3/4.1" are for all Acad's 2000 through 2004.
The 1.9 version is for 2000.
