I'm new to ProMECHANICA and like all standard newbies I have a big
    problem.
When I try to run the motion analisys all I'm getting is this message:
"Compilation failed. Aditional information may be available from
outside of Pro/MECHANICA Motion by examining the engin's log file.
Exit Pro/MECHANICA and than type "mmwatch".
This command welcomed me with another nice message:
"The mechanica motion engine is not running".
What the hell is happening? I use Pro/MECHANICA in integrated mode
(with Wildfire), although the same happens when I load the same
assembly into stand-alone Mechanica motion. Mechanica was installed
from the ProE Wildfire CD and it's directory was set properly.

Any help would be most welcome...

The Vulcan Empire does not recognize the barbarians of the Klingon Empire. PTC
won't pay royalties to the barbarians of the Microsoft empire for use of their C++
compiler, so users must supply their own, paying the royalty that PTC won't pay.
You have to install the MS C++ or Visual C++ compiler for Mechanica Motion to
    work.

    Thanks Dave,

from now on I will probably stick to Pro/Mechanism module. It works
    fine, at least so far...

Good thing it works. After checking Wildfire Mechanica, there's no Motion
simulation. Apparently, that's all been moved into Mechanism Design. Good that
    you're getting used to it.

WHAT!!!? It's gone ... just like THAT?? You are saying that Wildfire II
has no such beast as Mechanica/Motion??? It was there with the original
Wildfire!!! OK I'll calm down... I knew the end of Motion was coming.

So does undo work yet? Just a twitch from a long-time Mechanica user.

First time I saw Mechanism Design, I said this looks like jr. motion. Take a look
at it now! Baby's all grown up. It's got everything Motion ever had, plus capture
of results to an mpeg file, plus its cousin, Design Animation. Plus pieces of
Flythrough. If I'm not mistaken, this is in the Foundation Advantage package. Oh,
yeah, and the Undo works. Spring is just around the corner.
