Problems with solid modeling (AutoCAD 2002)

I am having a few problems that seem to be associated with objects
that are created as a solid. They are as follows:

    1. When dimensioning in paperspace, the dimensions do not show up. The
dimensions are there because if you do a crossing where the dimension
was dropped it shows up as being selected. The dimensions are drawn on
a layer that is current and it is not locked, frozen etc??

    2. In paperspace, when trying to zoom in a part of an object, the
graphics become "choppy" and I am limited to how far I can zoom in.
Pieces of the drawing are being left all over the screen??

Could these issues be attributed to a video card that is not capable
of handling 3D solid objects? The stats on my pc are as follows:

    IBM NetVista
    Intel Pentium 3 Processor
    797 MHz
    256 MB RAM
    Operating System: Windows XP
    Video Card: NVIDIA RIVA
Chip Type: RIVA TNT2 Model 64
    DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC
    16 Mb RAM
    BIOS: 3.05.0010

    PLEASE HELP........

  2. You should use the SOLVIEW and SOLDRAW commands to create 2D views from your
    3D model.
    Hope it helps ;)

AutoCAD 2002 does not accurately do transpacial dimensions on ACIS
solids, and several other kinds of objects. The value you get will be
the true paperspace dimensions. The alternative it to use the old
style dimensions, with the scale factor set for the viewport scale...
but I've had past version of AutoCAD forget these variable settings
and revert to a 1=1 scale.

I've not run into your exact issue, but that is probably because I
avoid paperspace dimensions because of the bugs.

As for stuff turning invisible, I get that some times when I
activate a hidden or shaded view in the orbit command in modelspace. I
must set shademode=2d to restore the invisible objects.
