Problem with creating a pdf-file

    Hi there,

I'm trying to create a ps / eps or pdf file, but there is always missing
about a third of the drawing on the paper. It doesn't matter if I use
the postscript level 2 Printer or e.g. HP3500PS. The result is always
the same. My HD has about 25GB free space, so that cannot be the point!

  2. What about RAM? How big is the file?

RAM=512 or 1024, depends on the PC I use, sadly the machine with 1024
produces about 10cm less than the 512 machine. The ps-file is about 1MB

....the dwg-file is about 1600KB, no raster-file included, the measures
of the drawing are 1500*570 mm, a new drawing with the same measures
    works well!

  5. So it's one drawing that won't print completely?

  7. Are you sure the paper size in Acad is the same that Adobe is using, or at
least the same proportion if it is being scaled?

The pdf-File shows the exact paper-size, but only a third of the
drawing is on the paper. It looks like the ink is empty, except it's
only on the screen. The mistake is always the same, no matter if I use
Ghostscript or Distiller, Acad- or a Windows-Printer, even if I double
    the paper size.

Try plotting a window, taking the full extents of the dwg into the
window, then plot to fit. If that works, there is something either
wrong with the paper size, versus scale, or the drawing limits.

Printing a window from the model section works, the problem seems to be
only in the layout section. Unfortunately it is not an option
transferring the layout intothe model section :-(

  11. When you pick your window, is it possible that you are snapping "short"? How
    does you preview look?

'snapping short' means I don't get the whole drawing? The preview looks
fine. The pdf-File looks as if I don't have enough memory, but with
512MB RAM and 25GB free discspace I don't think that is the point,
especially with a drawing that is not as big.

  13. Have you got the option of copying your drawing into a new ACAD file? Given
    that other files work OK.

Or create another, identical, layout tab in the same drawing

Copying the drawing into a new AutoCAD-file did not work out. The layout
is very complex, so this is not really an option.

  15. Yes. I mean that you are actually telling the computer to plot to a window
smaller than you think because of a snap.

If the preview looks good, that can't be it. 512 is not a lot of RAM if
you're running XP, but I can't say that's the problem. Disk space should be
    an issue.

  16. I meant NOT the issue.

The preview is alright. I am afraid either the interface between AutoCad
and postscript (because no ps-driver works) or the dwg-file itself is
corrupt. Probably the latter, because other files work. ...But all these
perceptions are not useful to get the ****drawing on the paper.

Try plotting a window of the portion that doesn't otherwise plot, and
see if that portion then plots correctly. If it does, and I'm not
trying to be an ass, make sure that ALL parameters are correct, paper
size in the plot, paper size in Adobe, etc.

  19. There ARE a lot of ways to screw this up.

    1. the preview always looks fine
    2. printing my layout with a window of the same size does not work
    3. printing a window in my layout with the same size as the paper but
moved somewhere inside my layout does not work, too
    4. printing a window in the model section, same size, +++same
    settings+++ works...

If I would change the settings I could accept that I am doing something
wrong, but I am sure all is set the same wether it is in the layout or
    the model section...
