PROBLEM Component Line Font

    I have an assembly with...kill...multiple instances of a sub-assembly. The
    problem is one of the instances is optional (the assembly is a kit) so I
    want to...kill...show it in Phantom. Select the correct....kill.....sub and
    select component line font and change it to Phantom. What happens is in the
    view the wrong...kill...component is shown Phantom. Or half of the parts in
    one...kill...instance of the sub assembly and half of the other are phantom.
    Has anyone run into this problem, and if you have is there a workaround this
    is dirving me to the funny farm.

    I have done this using Alternate Position Views.

    Look for this thread:
    Transparent parts in drawing files

    and my reply. I think I took the example files off of the web, so let
    me know if you want to see them.

    Which SP are you at? I know some line font issues were fixed in SP4.

    Well I had sent it to my VAR and he tested in 2004 and SP4.0 of 2003 and
    same results.

    I am running 2003 SP3.1

    This is not a new problem...I've seen it through a few of the versions of
    SW...first time I noticed it was in 2001....but it could have been there
    before. What I did was tro remove the view and put it back in again.
