Printing to HP 5P problems

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Cliff DuHaime, Jan 29, 2005.

  1. I am trying to print to my Hp printer from AutoCAD 2002, but I just
can't seem to get the linetypes to print the way I am used to seeing
them. I tried every variation I could think of in the Plot Manager as
far as lineweights and all that, but nothing works. In fact the lines
that it prints looks like a bunch of circles in a row. What do I need to
do so that a magenta line will print as a nice thick dark line, and a
green line will print as a nice thin dark line. Any help will be
    appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  2. Dean,

Thanks for the reply, but I would have to spend some time figuring out
what all that is. I do know that I had the same problem with R14 and
fixed it by changing all pens to pen #7 and then adjusting widths. This
does not seem to work with AutoCAD 2002. I do notice that if I change my
objects to white, they come out very nice. So how do I make all colors
behave like white, and then adjust thickness?

  3. Dean,

Thanks for the tip, the printing has improved using Monochrome. It still
won't allow me to change line thickness, but its good enough for now. I
would love take a class but with working 70 hours a week, it leaves
little time for fun stuff. Thanks again.
