Anyone know how to easily print a text object over a hatch as a blank
area? I am trying to use a backlight with a colored area and the text
as blank. I can convert the text to polylines, but that takes a while
to clean up the text each time.

    Thanks.

While you can trim lines to text and hatches to lines, you can't trim a
hatch to text. If you include the text as a boundary object when you make
the hatch, the hatch will flow around the text with a blank area. Hm...

Yes, Hatch Edit, Add Objects, click the text (you may want to zoom). OK.

If I understand correctly what you need.

Thanks. We ended out changing the color of the text itself to 255
rather than white. You can see a couple of dots in the text, but only
    when you are close up.

Thanks Gruhn, but when you add the text, like you said, it leavs a
considerable space around each word that is not hatched. We never did
get the hatch to go around the actual letter forms themselves.

Thanks S Scalise, but we only have ACAD 2002.

Thanks RJ, but our customer wanted White Text. We are just never going
to do a job with the White text over a colored background again, or at
    least not willingly :)
