Printing multiple drawing files?

Where I work all the drawings are done in model space and the boarder is scaled. Each sheet of the drawing is a separate file. If I want to print out a complete drawing I have to open X number of files set-up each one and print. This is very time consuming and it takes even longer if there are problems that occur while printing. I've tried to use the publish feature but I keep getting error messages for each file. Each job is listed in the log but there are blank lines where the page set-up info should be. Help! This is driving me crazy. I know about and how to use layouts but my work has been using AutoCAD this way forever and they don't want to change. Can I do script? How do I write one? Does anyone have any suggestions.

If this is really a time consuming issue try www.plotstream.com
It can handle all those drawings without a problem and save you time which
is money. I have heard very good things.

This might help, you can download our free demo of Multi-Batch from
    http://www.multi-batch.com

It has five wizards for creating new routines including two for plotting,
plus plenty of standard routines to get you started like Purge, Recover,
    Change Text, Change Attributes etc.

Select the "Plot - Detailed Setup" wizard and this will create the routine
for you. Since you have the full version of AutoCAD it will create a script
that will enable you to plot both Paperspace and Modelspace automatically.
This saves you having to worry about Page setups and gives consistent
plotting every time. You can now see what to do to alter your own script.

The beauty of a script routine is that it works through the plot command and
answers the questions, this includes Printer name, ctb file, plot extents
etc. You can then set up a routine for each printer. Now all you have to do
is select the drawings and then assign the correct routine from the database
for the printer you wish to use.
