If you originally have drawing on a 30X42 sheet, how could I print it on an
11x17 sheet and keeping a scale, such as the scale acoording to
Manufactureers Survey Associates,Inc., for example "A"/"B", and or "C"
    scales

  2. jmex,

Looks like nobody else has replied, and since I had a similar requirement a
short while ago, I thought I'd offer my thoughts :-

Based on the assumption that the 30x42 sheet has been set up and used
previously from a layout tab, and that you simply want to reproduce the same
layout at another scale, Go to Plot and click on Plot Settings whilst in the
layout tab that displays the plot you are looking to reproduce. You will see
that it is possible to amend the scale and the sheet size. If you don't want
to alter these in the original layout setup, simply make a copy of the tab
and carry out the changes in the copy.

If the original drawing has used paperspace, it is likely that the scale is
set to 1:1. Change the sheet size, and then alter the scale to "Scaled to
fit" which in the auto readout will give you an idea of what scale would be
required to map the 30x42 onto an 11x17 sheet. Naturally, this won't be any
kind of reasonable scale, and you will have to work out from the scale of
your original what factor you wish to apply.

For example, if the original scale is 1:24, then you may have to accept 1:96
to be able to get a rational scale to fit onto the 11x17 sheet. Simple
arithmetic shows that the nearest full drawing at a rational scale will have
to be one quarter linear scale of the original (assuming this will produce a
rational scale) which immediately gives you an actual print area equivalent
of 30/4 x 42/4 or 7.5"x10.5", less than half of your 11x17 sheet. if you
were to use half linear scale, then the resultant plot is too large to fit
your preferred sheet size. (30/2 x 42/2 = 15"x21"). If you can live with a
non rational scale and only require a fit, then go with the "Scaled to fit"
setting. One third linear scale is unlikely to provide a rational scale in
either imperial or metric units, though 1/2.5 will sometimes in metric.
