Printer resets to 'none'

I'm assuming that this has been covered in the past, though a quick search has failed to yeild me anything...

We're running AutoCAD 2002 on XP machines on a Windows 2000 Server network. Periodically, our printers will 'dissappear' to AutoCAD. WE can select the printer or .pc3 in the dropdown list, but upon selection it immediately reverts to 'none'. From that point on, AutoCAD doesn't show the printer...though other Windows applications are unaffected.

Most of the time a disconnect, cold boot, reconnect, cold boot takes care of the problem...but it is annoying as hell.

    Any advise/suggestions/prayers/chants/etc. would be appreciated.

    Thank You.

Still no luck. I posed several different questions and several different keywords.

Is this an issue that has a fix?

    Thanks.

Still no luck. I found some info about the spooler...tried stopping it and restarting it. Nothing. Had one of our IT people look at the event view...he didn't see anything suspicious.

We have a number of pc3 files for the same plotter (HP1055CM)...and each time I select one, it appear briefly in the device box, then reverts to 'none'. from that point on, that particular pc3 file is unavailable (can't see it)

Again, this is only happening on one XP machine...all other XP machines are just fine.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.
