previews and plots in color, when I want black & white

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Vivian Lee Sund, Jan 5, 2005.

  1. I have ADT 2005, and I use .ctb files and it looks like all my paths to the support files are correct, but my computer still previews and plots in color. When I get on my colleague's computer, which has the same settings, I can plot in black & white from his computer. It does not matter which printer I choose.

Please help me resolve this issue. Thanks.

The color vs B&W issue is within the CTB file, so you may have 2 issues to
    look into.
    1. Edit your CTB file so that your output color is set to black. (or post
it here so we can verify it).
    2. Check your Options > Files > Printer Support File Path > Plot Style
Table Search Path > value to see if the file exists in that path.

  3. Do you have different ctb paths for different profiles? There's a bug in
2005 where if you switch profiles it will list the ctb in the path that the
profile is set for in the plot dialog but when it previews and actually
plots it uses the path of the profile that you started AutoCAD with. I
think the workaround is when you switch profiles make sure you at least
click on the Files Tab in the Preferences Dialog to get it to update the
    paths.

Check your 'Shademode' variable. I had the same problem with a drawing and found it was set to Gouraud and regardless of what pen style I used my drawing kept previewing and plotting in color.
Also check what Shademode the viewport is set to by selecting it, right clicking and 'shadeplot'. should be set to 'As Displayed'
    Hope this helps.
