Preventing a message to appear

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Marcel Janmaat, Jan 14, 2005.

  1. How can I prevent the message below to appear?

Caution! "1234_VO-BK-001" is an externally referenced block.
Renaming it will also rename its dependent symbols.

  4. Marcel,

Rather than assume we know exactly how you are
renaming the xref, post the code you are using so
we can all be on the same page. I assume that you
are not using any activeX functions to do this?

  6. Hi Marcel,

I was making an attempt to help you. But clearly you don't want help.

Can't say I blame you Laurie. Normally people who ask for help know that
they are asking for help. They should realize that the people who help here
are experienced and can easily tell by your post that you are renaming a
block. However, what they don't know is how you are going about it...doubt
there'll be much more help availible on this post....

  10. That sounds verry resolute.
I used to be able to prevent messages like these from apearing by changing
    the expert variable.
But I guess it's not possible for the message below then.

  11. Did you get the problem resolved?

  12. Maybe Mr. Bell was referring to using the
    command function?

    Command: xref
    Attach Xref "123": C:\Temp\123.dwg
    "123" loaded.

    Command: (setq item (vla-item (vla-get-blocks *doc*) "123"))
    #<VLA-OBJECT IAcadBlock2 0ae56c34>

    Command: (vla-put-name item "456")
    nil

    Command: -block

Enter block name or [?]: ?

    Enter block(s) to list <*>:

    Defined blocks.
    "456" Xref: resolved

  13. Nope! According to Robbert Bell it cannot be solved.
