I want to print to an EPS file with a bounding box corresponding to the LIMITS in the drawing. Actually in ACAD2005, the bounding box in the EPS file correspond to the papersize I use for printing. My problem, is that I have more than 500 drawings with different size, different limits, etc.. and I want to export those DWG in EPS format with exact scale and to a size (bounding box...) corresponding to the limits I give.

    Thanks a lot!!!

  2. What you found is: boundingbox = papersize (that's how it is made, no way to
change it afaik). What you want is: boundingbox = limits. So you should make
papersize = limits. To get that you'll have to plot the Model tab, use
'Limits' for plot area, plot at scale 1:1 and use a papersize on which the
dwg will exactly fit. Depends on your dwgs whether this is realistic.

It's a good idea for few dwg, but when you have more than 1500 dwg with different sizes, the process to create a custom papersize is a bit long....

  4. You could think of a combination of a script and a Lisp routine to automate
the process in AutoCAD. Question is whether the development of this takes
less time than when you process them all manually. What do you need these
EPS files for? Perhaps there are other solutions. Perhaps you can batch plot
to a fixed (large) size and post-process the EPS files, e.g. in Illustrator,
to crop them? Batch plot to HPGL/2 files and then use a viewer/converter
like Viewcompanion to convert these files to (E)PS may be another option. It
all depends on what you want/need for the "end-product".

  5. Can you work with PDF files instead of EPS? If so email me over a couple
samples and I'll see if our software can do it for you.
