Portable License Utility missing from Programs Menu

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Reid M. Addis, Feb 10, 2005.

  1. On a laptop connected to our network, I've successfully installed and
licensed to a network license file ADT 2005.
I wanted to play with the Portable License Utility and, it's missing from
the Autodesk->Architectural Desktop 2005-> cascading menu.
In fact, it's missing from ALL of the desktop machines too!

On mine machine, which is a stand alone license, it's there.
What is wrong here? The install are all from a NIW on a network server. I
haven't yet made licenses available to borrow (I think, that's the next
step), but that shouldn't effect the shortcut from showing, should it?

How can I get this option to appear?

  2. Okay, I found this tidbit searching the Autodesk Knowledge base:
license from a network-bound Autodesk product for use on another computer.
Licenses for network-bound products are managed by the Autodesk® License
Manager (AdLM); these network licenses cannot be accessed by the PLU.<<

So, how do I borrow a license for use on my laptop?

  3. Uhh...never mind, I think.
Found a couple of threads under License borrow (Borrow License), that I need
to try out before asking additional questions.
