Portable License Utility for VIZ 4 on Network

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Reid M. Addis, Jan 10, 2005.

  1. We have a 3 user license of VIZ4 on the network.
I want to "check out" a license for a laptop.
When I use the PLU program, I assume I go to the Import tab (it goes there
    by default).
When I click on Import... I get an error dialog box saying "Please check
that you have entered a valid Transfer Filename and select Import again"
I didn't select the Transfer Code radio button, just the Read transfer file
    button.

    So, the question is:
    1. How do I transfer a Network license to this laptop.
    2. How do I transfer the license back to the network when I'm finished.

    Thanks.

The Portable License Utility only works for the standalone license; that's
why you're getting errors. The feature you are looking for in the network
license is called "borrowing". I don't believe VIZ4's network license has
the borrowing feature (look for the License Borrowing Utility); you may need
to upgrade to get that functionality.

A good summary of the license features is here:
