polyline area association with text

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Virginijus Gerdvilis, Jul 30, 2004.

  1. Hi,
does anybody know how to associate polyline area with text.
In other words- aim is text to be changed automatically after modifying of
    polyline graphically.
In other words- I do all kinds of modifications on a floor plan, and I want
text in the area table (at the other corner of my drawing) to change
automatically after I enlarge or reduce area of rooms.

    seems it is working.
One more thing- do you have any idea how area text could be turned into cm
    instead of mm?

If you've got ADT, look into the Spaces and/or Areas.
    The info can be exported.

When you create the field the expression is shown at the bottom of the dialog box something like

    %<\AcObjProp Object(%<\_ObjId 2130057960>%).Area \f "%lu6%qf1">%

You need to cut this to notepad and then alter it to divide by a factor of 10 or whatever to suit and paste it back into mtext

This is where I am getting lost. I can not find anywhere any info on the correct expression needed to divide this number.
