plotting uses wrong lineweights

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by marybethoberlin, Feb 27, 2004.

  1. Our office is having a recurring problem. We have two different page setups for plotting: Full Size and Half Size. When the previous plot was Full Size, and it's switched in the plot window to Half Size, the plot still comes out with the Full Size lineweights (and vice versa).

To solve it, we have to change the setup in the page setup window before we go to the plot window. This extra step seems like a waste, and sometimes it is forgotten resulting in wasted paper.

This has only happened on computers running Windows XP, others are on 98. We have AutoCad2000i. It also does not happen with all files. Is this just a bug, or is there some way to fix it?

Sounds like not all have saved the page to the name. Once you have the
defaults you like, go to <pagesetup><add>, double click or type
pagesetup name in the "New page setup name" field and then <ok>.
Defaults hold best once set from the page setup dialog but can be set
from the plot dialog (but here if not already defined in the page setup
    may not hold).

We use here only a full size setup and just check the scale lineweights
box for our half size plots.

    Hope this helps.

  3. We have our page setups named already. Usually we just have to pick from the "page setup name" list in the plot dialogue. This automatically changes all the setting, including the correct ctb file for lineweights, to Full or Half size settings. The problem is, after everything is set correctly, what is actually plotted comes out as the wrong lineweights/ctb file.

I have found that I get more lost default values by importing and
changing from the plot dialog than from the page setup dialog. Once page
setups are imported I have found they can be changed at will with little
    problem.
