Plotting to XES8830

When I set up to plot a paperspace window to an XES8830 plotter, what I get on the printer is not what I get as a full preview. When I do the full preview, what is in the window is what I have selected in the window. When I return to the plot dialog box and then hit the OK button, the display shifts to show the entire paperspace with the window occupying only a small part of that paperspace. The resulting plot consists on my window followed by a whole lot of white paper on the floor.
The "Save Changes to Layout" check box was cleared as advised in TS32843:"Paper background in layout moves after plotting". Clearing the check box stopped the screen display from jumping as described above, but the white space still dumped onto the floor.
    Any ideas?

What paper size are you using?

Also there is a setting on the plotter that either is set to plot specified, which will plot out the exact paper size specified, or inked area which looks at the extents of what you are plotting and will only plot out where ink would appear.

We were using the inked area option until we upgraded to firmware version 6. There is a glitch in version 6 that it wouldn't autorotate the plots and autoselect the correct roll size, so we had to switch to plot specified for the plot area.
