I'm plotting drawings that are 44k to 194k they have xrefs that are 526 and
477, when I try to print these files the size goes up to 19m. I thought
that maybe it was the driver that I am using but using different drivers
seems to have no effect. I'm using an 9400 with/ raster driver by oce.
anyone knows why my files are so big please help. it is taking forever to
    plot

  2. You should not compare the (RTL) raster image file that this driver creates
with the size of the AutoCAD files. Completely different file formats. Use
the HDI driver supplied with AutoCAD to get smaller (vector) plot files (but
    still not comparable).
