Plotting shaded in 2005

I'm attempting to plot a shaded view in AutoCAD 2005. But all of the shaded areas keep coming out black in the preview and on the plot.

I'm printing to a black/white laser (HP8100N). My 'Plot Style Table' is set to 'None'. I'm plotting in Layout and the viewport showing the shaded objects has its 'Shade Plot' setting set to 'As Displayed'. I've tried plotting with the shademode in the viewport set to both flat and garoud. The shaded areas look great on the screen but keep showing up as solid black in the plot preview and on the resulting plot.

If I change the 'Shade Plot' setting to 'Rendered', the textures I have assigned to the objects plot just fine. But I really need to be able to plot shaded views as well.

    What am I missing here?
