My PDF plots have fuzzy text, hatches and some lines. I use a 1050c+ but
it's not the post-script version. Does this mean:

    1. I can, and should, upgrade the hardware.
    2. All I need to do is find a post-script driver for the 1050c+
    3. All of the above, or
    4. I'm out of luck, I should have bought the post-script plotter when I had
    the chance.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello,
you don't need the PostScript option.PDF also work fien with the standard
    HPGL2 driver.
But anyway for the 1050 there is a PS Option that you can buy if you want,
(You need to ask a local dealer)

    but its really not required.

Be shure to use the latest Reader and driver for the plotter.

I know I do not need the post script option. I'm obviously plotting the
PDFs. But the quality is not as good as I would like it. From what I
understand, plotting pdf without a postscript driver can have these results.
What I am not sure of is whether I need the postscript option in the plotter
or if I could just use a post script driver.

    thanks,
    E

  4. You can not (should not) use a PostScript driver for a plotter w/o the
    PostScript option.

If the PDF's are ok, you should get good quality prints when you print from
Acrobat (Adobe) Reader using the HPGL2-RTL driver

I tried what you said and actually it did help on the screen but not on the
    plot.

I started at 300dpi and even there the fuzziness that appeared on the screen
was smaller than would normally show on the plot. I went up to 600dpi and
there was no difference at all. Furthermore, the fuzziness happened in the
plot with text that was not even fuzzy on the screen.

If it's not missing the post script feature that is causing the problem, I
do not know what is. Anyway, what is the post script feature supposed to
    do?

You didn't happen to mention if your plotters are post script enabled. I
would like to know if that is the problem ahead of time so that I do not
need to shell out cash unnecessarily.

    Thanks,
