plotting pdfs to 1050c ps3

Help! The majority of the times that I have to plot D size PDFs to my plotter using this post script driver, the plotter cuts off the sheet before it's done and I get an error code on the plotter that says "Out of memory Data was lost" ( 512M memory). Our IT guys here have only loaded the post script driver for network use. I have the same problem using this driver within Autocad2005 (OS is XP). To get around this, I am using 755cm driver w/in Acad. Is there another non-PS driver that I can use to fix this problem? or something else to help?

in the plot dialog is there an 'avoid out of memory' button in the advanced tab.
another way around out of memory is to plot to half size sheet with the plot driver set to scale 200% - this also seems to avoid the out of memory problem.

 

One of my clients is having a similar problem. They don't get an "out
of memory" error, but a pdf file that's +/- 500K (scanned in on my Oce
TDS400) balloons to +/- 12M when they try to plot, and the plots take 15
minutes each. Still trying to find a solution.

You could try the print to haf size with 200% scale - we have found it gives smaller plot files.

 

Get your IT guys to load the PCL driver for your 1050. PCL plot files are
much smaller.

I recommend using HPGL2/RTL drivers for all HP machines, Try the latest
driver from HP's site. There was also a note from one of the other posts
about the switch to toggle "low memory" mode, I'm not sure it is still
available in the newest drivers, but going to hpgl2/rtl language should help
considerably.

 

There is NO PCL driver for the HP1050.
YOu have 2 choices...


1. PS driver. (require HP1050+PS option, or HP1055)
2. HPGL"/RTL driver.
On option , there is a switch "Process in computer". If you select this the
plotter never goes out of ram...

I always recomand the HPGL" driver, much faster.
I don't really know why people are using PS drivers for CAD. It make no
sense......
