Plotting causes error in AutoCad

    I just installed AutoCad 2004 and am having problems plotting. I plot to a file and then send the file to a printer. When I try to plot, the AutoCad program stops responding and I have to alt-ctrl-del and "end now".
    Does anyone have any suggestions? I am running windows xp pro.
