I have been trying to plot to a 30" roll and my sheet size is 42x30, I have 2004 plotting perfect. Now that I am using 2005 it is not the same. My plotter is an HP 1050C. The margins don't seem to be the same as they were in 2004. I do have plotting nodes that I was using in 2004, now they are not working in 2005. Has anyone had this problem or if they have the plotting for 2005 figured out please pass some tips on to myself, it is giving me a headache.

As Dean says, some more info would be helpful. However, a few things to be
    aware of.
1: HP has a habit of changing margins at the drop of a hat. On our 1050, we
had different leading and trailing edge margins depending on whether we had
a 30" roll in, or a 24" roll. Lame in my book.
2: 2005 allows you to use the corner of the page as 0,0, rather than the
corner of the plotted area. When plotted area is used, when you change
device, or even paper size in the case of an HP plotter, then the image
moves around on the page and you have to tweak the X & Y offsets to get it
right again. Results in a different Named Plot Setup for EVERY combination
of device and paper size. In R2005 I have gone to corner of paper for 0,0.
Now when I change paper size or device, the image stays put. If the device
has a fat margin, the image will be trimmed, but I have made sure our
standard title blocks work with all our output devices. This really makes
things like switching to a PDF printer easy, just change the print device
    and you are done.

Not sure that will help, but you may want to look into it.

    Best,
    Gordon

I have seen the margins change depening on the type of paper selected,
coated paper vs. vellum on an 800ps, also lame. :-|

I think, in the interests of maximum profit, HP took the whole "monkeys on
typewriters will eventually write Shakespear" thing to heart. Somewhere in
Madagascar there is an HP Plotter Driver Division, with about a hundred
    Orangutans banging out code ;)

gordon sorry for the late reply,

I used to have some nodes set at .21,.21 (plotter margins) then I had an upper node that I would snap to 41.85,29.5 setting my x,y at -.21,-.21 this would plot a perfect 42x30 from a 30" roll with a paper size of 43x30 to allow for the margins and to trim.

For 2005 I am using the 0,0 with no nodes then will be setting nodes in the upper right hand corner. Trial and error is that correct?
