We have an OCE 9400 with scanner. We're looking at OCE TDS400, Kyocera
4850W, and Kip plotters. If you've used any of them I'd love to hear how
they've worked for you, and any trouble you ran into.

  2. I just got an Oce TDS400 and scanner. Overall it's very good, but the
drivers leave a lot to be desired. The ink jet I had was WYSIWYG from
the Autocad plot preview. With the Oce I have to add tic marks in
diagonal corners because it will center the plotted area along the
length of the paper. If you create your own drawings it's easy to fix
your templates, but if you work with titleblocks from other offices it
can be a pain. Having WYSIWYG from the preview window is basic to every
low end ink jet I've seen. Why Oce can't do it on a $13K+ plotter is
beyond me. It also doesn't seem to check where the edge of the paper
roll is, so positioning across the roll depends on how accurately you
    position the roll.

I wouldn't go back to ink jet, but I'm not fully satisfied, either.

    We have our second KIP.
8000 this time with a scanner and could not be happier.
The plotter is very fast, and dependable.
The plotting software is easy to use and free (not limits on seats).
We plot everything to file on the server, and then send plot sets using the PowerPrint software.

We have an OCE TDS600 that's now working fine. Our first one apparently was
a lemon - nothing but problems. OCE replaced it and it's been fine since -
    over two years now.
