Plotted characters coming out as squares

    I'm trying to help some folks in a remote office. They use AutoCAD 2000 on
    Windows 2000 sp4 and print to a networked HP 5000 laser printer for 17x11
    prints. They are experiencing some characters that print out as little
    squares. Not the whole word as in qtext, just one letter. One letter that is
    often affected is the letter N. It doesn't happen on every drawing and, as
    I'm told, affects AutoCAD's built in fonts, so doesn't seem to be a true
    type font issue. My search into the problem is fruitless. Any ideas?
