what is the best way to get a JPEG from an AutoCAD file. Is there a way
built into AutoCAD or do you have to get a 3rd party print driver that does
    it?

are there any free drivers out there that do this?

    thanks in advance,

If you are plotting line work, JPEG is not a good solution. PNG is a good
option though maybe not readable at whatever your end use is. Failing that,

    File > Plotter Manager > Add -Plotter-Wizard > Next > Next > Raster File
    Format > Indipendent Jpeg
and then, plot with this plotter (set resolution ecc..)

  4. Randy,

If I want a jpeg of a file, I just use Paint shop Pro and do a screen
capture. I do this allot when checking drawings for mistakes from other
    designers.

I'm sure if you look around the net you should be able to find a freeware or
shareware screen capture program or get a copy or PSP or equiv program.

Plot to JPEG. Should come with. Not sure which version started it.

ASIDE: If your work is typical CAD, all hard lines, then you are not (even a
little) best served wtih JPEG. It may still be adequate.
