I am trying to figure out why my HP 1220c DeskJet crashes (immediately
closes) ADT 3.3 when I "plot to file". Works fine when printing to paper. I
used an older HP1120c for years 'till it became unreliable.

Using USB001 port, I have reset "bidirectional communication with printer"
both ways, downloaded latest drivers from HP. Win2000 sp4, ATI 9600 video
    card.

    Any advice welcome. . . .

Plus why the changes to the entire setup if you are just plotting to file?

    Thanks Dean,
I "plot to file" so that ADT 3.3 will save my plot settings without
actually plotting to paper. This is very handy, so when I get drawings all
finished up, I know the plots are already set up.

Also, I can use govert's goplot to run batches unattended.

the plotter can use either LPT or USB, perhaps changing to LPT will keep it
from crashing. Hoping someone will chime in with similar prob, and fix.

Ends up the printer crashes ANY programs that I print to file.
Must be a conflict with the port or other printer.
