Helo, excuse for my bad english, I was workin with MS 95 and i instal the
new version (v8), I have serius problems to print, i dont know, if problem
is the printer.plt or another thing. the printer model is HP DesingJet450c,
and wen i selet the printer.plt and then the print model and size, for
example, i print, one A3 (420mmx297mm), good, after select, Microstation put
in the print window 413.597mmx290.576mm, how can get the 420x297 print
    area?
i remove the margen distacies, but nonetheless can obtain correct
    area(420x297)

    Thanks for hep me

  2. You cannot.

You are using the system printer as supplied by HP and it is allowing
for the margins. I have spent some time investigating this and there
is nothing you can do about it. The way to plot exactly to scale is
to draw a border the correct A3 size, but then place snap marks inside the
    border
to exactly make the size 413.597mmx290.576mm

    This works very well.

You can now judge where to place you text/ title boxes etc in relation to
    the
edge of the paper and it does print exactly to scale.

If you use the PLT driver you must use different numbers. See ASKINGA.COM

    I tried to explain it

  3. V8.5 Does add a "Full Sheet" option to System Plotting, but this just allows
for the printer margins, so you still cannot draw to the full sheet
boundaries. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other!

Draw a polygon 413.597 Meters not millimetres by 290.576 meters
now fence it and hit control p select the window printer driver printer.plt
    select your printer ie 450c
    select A3 paper

you will now see that the printable area = the size of your plot sheet and
the scale is 1:1 m :mm
    but you know its a 1000 x s reduction.
now save this rectangle as a sheet gauge cell.
now when wishing to place your own old sheet cells
place the new sheet gauge cell on first at desired scale
then place your old sheet cell snapped to this sheet gauge cell by
interactive not true scale with zero rotation
now you can therefore print this to real scaleusing the windows paper size
    allowable print area.
The alternative is to change your sheet border dgns /cells to be the
allowable printable area for a3 ie
413.597 millimetres by 290.576 millimetres or meters x meters
