Plot Dialogue - PDF's - Fit to sheet

On the old dialogue box, the 'scaled to fit' command was in the scales pulldown. Now it is a separate check box. The problem is when I try to plot to a PDF writer, it doesn't allow me to 'fit to sheet'. Therefore, I have to plot window instead of Layout which causes a few problems that are irritating. Is there some good reason why ACad changed this?

For my $.02 guys, if it ain't broke, don't 'fix' it. :)

Is there anyone from ACAD that could comment on this?

    Thanks.

The discussion groups are a user to user (peer to peer) type of
support network. Though Autodesk personnel do join in, it is not
something that should be expected. You can find your support
options at the left of this page by clicking on Support.

    Thank you, Anne.

Why do we get the feeling that this message only comes up when it's an issue that AutoCad does not want to address publicly?

    Have a nice weekend.

Are you sure it is the PDF driver that's doing this?

Perhaps you are trying to select a plot are of "Layout". Scale to fit is not
menaingful for "Layout" and hence is not available. If want to fit a
paperspace layout to a sheet, try using a plot area of "Extents", then scale
    to fit should be available.

I understand that there are ways around it. I'm just saying that in the past I could plot layout to Acrobat PDF Writer and then pick 'fit to page'. Our layout with title block etc. would fit neatly on an 8 1/2 x 11. Now if I do extents and fit to sheet it includes some extraneous information we have on the side that we usually don't plot, and if I plot window it changes my layout view.
All I'm asking is why did ACAD take the 'scaled to fit' off of the scale drop down? Was it broke? Did everyone hate it? Was it naughty? ;-)
I'm being facitious but nevertheless, it worked fine before so why change it? This is one of the frustrations users have with updates. Things get changed that don't appear to need changing. I originally posted this expecting someone from ACAD would read it and say, 'Oh, we did that to improve your performance by...' Yet they have been silent. Or maybe just haven't seen this yet, or maybe don't think it's important. It may not be that important..but it chaps my @$$ every time I need to plot a PDF now.

Thanks for listening to my rant. I'll take my medication and get back to work.
