Plot a received PLT

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Trying Hard 2, Feb 1, 2005.

  1. I use AutoCAD 2004 along with a HP DesignJet 1050C plotter. I am familiar with sending PLT's but now I am receiving PLT files and do not know how to plot them.
How do I plot a PLT?

But first check that the files that you get are made for a DesignJet.

Dean meant to say, "If the PLT files were created in the language your
    plotter uses (HPGL/2 for one)..."

  4. Not sure that's completely true -- all HPGL/2 files are not created
equal and not all plotters recognize the same sub-set of HPGL/2
    instructions. A 1050c will generally print a file created for a 650c,
but it may not work too well the other way around.

I'm watching this topic cause I for one have the same problem and Ithink none of you nice folks really answered the question. I think the question is more towards "how" rather than "what" can it print. I am interested to know how to send the PLT to the printer once all required free stuff are acquired. Do you just dropthe PLT into A folder and is send to the plotter machine? How?

Read the whole thread. That's already been answered.
